The General Secretariat of the King Faisal Prize has announced the opening of nominations for its 48th edition in 2026, one of the most prestigious international awards. The prize committees have set the following topics for the different award categories in this edition:

- Islamic Studies Prize: Topic: "Trade Routes in the Islamic World"

- Arabic Language and Literature Prize: Topic: "Arabic Literature in French"

- Medicine Prize: Topic: "Groundbreaking Discoveries in Obesity Treatment"

- Science Prize: Topic: "Mathematics"

- Islamic Service Prize: This is a special award given to individuals with a leading role in serving Islam and Muslims intellectually, scientifically, and socially, through various works, activities, programs, and projects that have an impact on the Muslim community.

The Secretary-General of the prize noted that nominations are accepted from universities, institutions, and scientific centers.
