As part of Ain Shams University's commitment to supporting and encouraging faculty staff to compete in academic and research awards and promote scientific research, Dr. Hani Nazmy Soliman, Assistant Professor in the Physics Department at the Faculty of Education, received the Prof. Latifa Al-Houti Award for Best Research Submitted by an Assistant Professor in Physics for the year 2024. Meanwhile, Dr. Rania Badri Amin, Lecturer in the Physics Department at the Faculty of Girls, received the Prof. Karimat Al-Sayed Award for Best Research Submitted by a Lecturer in the same field. This award was granted for meeting all the criteria for each award, according to the decisions of the judging committees.
The winners of these awards were approved by the University Council at its session held on March 24, 2025. This affirms the university's commitment to promoting academic excellence and encouraging researchers to make pioneering contributions in various fields of science.
On this occasion, His Excellency Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of the University, Prof. Amani Osama Kamel, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and the University Awards Office extend their sincere congratulations to the winners, commending their academic excellence and pioneering research. They affirmed the university's continued support for all young researchers, encouraging them to conduct innovative scientific studies that contribute to the development of science and knowledge.
Dr. Hani Nazmy has made distinguished scientific contributions, have published more than 20 scientific papers in prestigious local and international journals covering the fields of plasma interactions with surfaces, materials processing, solid-state physics, and corrosion science. He has also contributed to the development of scientific research through his role as an external reviewer in specialized international journals, reflecting his extensive experience and effective contributions in the fields of physics and materials science.
Dr. Rania Badri has also played a prominent role in promoting scientific research through her participation as a member of the "Molecular Modeling and Experimental Studies of Condensed Matter Interactions and Biological Systems" project, in addition to publishing 32 scientific papers in prestigious international journals.
She has also contributed to the academic community by reviewing scientific research in specialized journals, participating in organizing and attending more than 11 international conferences, and participating in more than 25 scientific workshops in the fields of molecular modeling, spectroscopy, and nanotechnology.
