The National Center for Translation, headed by Prof. Karma Sami, announced the winners of its third annual awards for the year 2024-2025. Prof. Shukry Megahed, Professor of English Literature at the Faculty of Education, at Ain Shams University, won the Rifa'a al-Tahtawi Award for Translation for his entire body of work.
This honor comes in recognition of his comprehensive translation project, which includes several prominent works, including Islamophobia and Extremism, Setting Priorities: Personal Values and Institutional Results, Adaptability: Effective Response to Change, The Historical Landscape, and Cross-Cultural Communication, among others.
This achievement reflects Ain Shams University's pioneering role in supporting scientific and cultural research and consolidating its position as an academic institution contributing to intellectual and cognitive renaissance.

The Rifa'a al-Tahtawi Award is one of the most prominent awards granted by the National Center for Translation. It is worth noting that Professor Shukri Megahed has held numerous academic positions, including the Chair of the English Language Department at the Faculty of Education at Ain Shams University and the President of the National Center for Translation.
He has also taught at several Egyptian and Saudi universities, published specialized research in English and American literature, and supervised numerous academic dissertations. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding (2021-2023), in addition to being an accredited reviewer for prestigious academic journals.
