Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Diaa Zain El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Walaa Abdel Ghani El Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, the Department of Food Sciences at the Faculty of Agriculture organized a symposium entitled "Nutrition Education and Consumer Development." The symposium was moderated by Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Abdel Razek, Head of the Food Sciences Department Council, with the participation of regulatory authorities, food manufacturing companies, and consulting and training institutions in the fields of food safety and nutrition education.

The symposium addressed several topics, including:

- Raising consumer awareness and maintaining public health, nutritional education and its relationship to consumer protection.

-The role of regulatory authorities in food safety and consumer protection.

- Preparing and qualifying students for the job market in the fields of food manufacturing, nutrition, and food safety.

- The role of the Food and Agricultural Technology Center in transferring technology and innovation to maximize added value.

- An overview of chemical and food laboratories.

- The role of the Consumer Protection Agency in combating legal violations and monitoring markets.

- The role of the Egyptian General Authority for Standardization and Quality in raising awareness and ensuring the quality and safety of food products.

- The importance of the food safety sector and its role in consumer protection.

- AIC in promoting food safety and training specialized personnel.

- Insulin resistance.

- The role of nutrition in stimulating immunity and preventing food allergies.

- The role of the Food Safety Laboratory at the Faculty of Agriculture, at Ain Shams University, in achieving food quality and safety.
