The University’s Applied Research Committee met to discuss, study, and fund applied research for the fiscal year 2019/2020, according to the applied research plan funded from the university’s budget and from the budget of the Community Affairs sector under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Nazmi Abdel Hamid, Vice President of Community Affairs for Community Service and Environmental Development. It is chaired by Prof. Dr. Magda Ikram Ebeid, the committee's rapporteur and membership of Mr. Samir Abdel Nasser, Secretary-General of the University, Mr. Suhail Hamza, Assistant Secretary of the University for Community Service and Development Affairs, Mr. Tarik Amer, Acting General Director of the General Department for Environmental Projects; Prof. Dr. Hazem Mahmoud Rashid, Deputy of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Dr. Nabil Mohamed Hassan Al-Madani, Deputy of the Faculty of Agriculture, and Prof. Dr. Amira Ahmed Youssef Shaheen, vice-dean of the Faculty of Girls for Community and Development Affairs.
The committee reviewed the applied research during the previous fiscal year, which amounted to (45) researches, the committee also reviewed the development and scientific progress by increasing the proportion of international publishing in scientific journals by researchers and research submitted for publication. The committee recommended the need to encourage the researcher to progress and publish scientific research.
The committee also launched new research from the colleges (science, education, girls, college of agriculture and the environment institute) where new applied research was chosen according to the criteria and rules set by the committee and it ended up funding (53) new research within the funded applied research.
