 About us

MASRI – tissue culture and stem cell research unit: started preparation, training of crew and working under supervision of the Italian tissue culture expert Silvia Porta 1996. The unit has been undergoing complete renovation, whether at the infrastructure level or at the hardware level 2019.

MASRI – tissue culture and stem cell research unit generally refers to the growth of cells from a tissue from a multicellular organism in vitro. These cells may be cells isolated from a donor organism, "primary cells", or an immortalized cell line. The cells are bathed in a culture medium, which contains essential nutrients and energy sources necessary for the cells' survival.

MASRI – tissue culture and stem cell research unit Regarding the significance of regenerative medicine and stem cells therapy in the treatment of cancer, The tissue culture and stem cells Unit in the MASRI labs used the application of stem cells therapy using either various types of hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines, or by chemical induction of hepatocellular cancer in research animals with collaboration with Genomic Unit.

MASRI – tissue culture and stem cell research unit Isolation of stem cells from Bone marrow blood, Umbilical cord blood and Adipose tissues. We Maintain, proliferate and differentiate of mesenchymal stem cells into several types of cells according to growth factors added.

MASRI – tissue culture and stem cell research unit Transfection of somatic cells into induced pluripotent stem cells (IPCs) to reduce or avoid side effect of transplantation.

MASRI – tissue culture and stem cell research unit conduct different training courses to increase capacity building in new young researches.

MASRI – tissue culture and stem cell research unit is conducts some experiments on cancer cells to determine the effect of drugs used in various medical fields and Maintain different types of cells and changing of media, Cryopreservation of different types of cells by using liquid nitrogen.
