Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abidin, President of Ain Shams University, issued a decision to renew the appointment of Dr. Hatem El-Abd as Director of the Center for Middle East Research and Future Studies at the University for two years, starting from 9/29/2024.
Since September 29, 2022, he has held the position of Director of the Center for Middle East Research and Future Studies at the University. He is also a member of the Technical Secretariat of the Youth Councils and the Egypt Center for Youth Diplomacy at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
He also works as a lecturer in international law at the Military Academy for Graduate and Strategic Studies as well as the Military College.
Dr. Hatem El-Abd has extensive experience in the field of international law, especially in the topics of international responsibility, international agreements and foreign investment, as he worked at the International Law Commission of the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland and participated in the project of the materials of international responsibility of international organizations as well as the topic of criminal immunity for heads of state. He also taught international law at several French and international universities.
He also has many scientific research papers published internationally in French and English, some of which have been translated into more than one language.
It is worth noting that His Excellency holds a Master's and Doctorate degree in International Law from the Universities of Lyon and Grenoble-Alpes in France, as well as a Diploma in International Law from the International Law Commission of the United Nations.
