The first episode of the third season of the educational course "ABCs of Politics and Law" was held at the Faculty of Archaeology
Within the framework of the 2024-2025 cultural season of the Middle East Research and Future Studies Center, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center, the Center held today, Monday, February 24, the first episode of the third season of the educational course "ABCs of Politics and Law" hosted by the Faculty of Archaeology in the presence of Prof. Dr. Nawal Jaber, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ghada Fayed, President of the Union.
The lecture was opened by Prof. Dr. Nawal Jaber, welcoming Dr. Hatem Al-Abd, Director of the Center and the attendees, where Her Excellency pointed out at the beginning of her speech the importance of the topic of the symposium, an initiative to raise political and legal awareness among university youth.
The speech was then given by Dr. Hatem Al-Abd, who began his speech by thanking Professor Dr. Hossam Tantawi, Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology, for his generous hosting of this symposium, and His Excellency stressed the importance of these educational courses to inform young people of their rights and duties and responsibilities. Dr. Al-Abd presented an introduction to the most important basic concepts in legal science, such as the definition of law, which is the organizing and driving framework for all aspects of life, and its two main types, which are public law and private law, and responsibilities of various types, such as moral responsibility, and legal responsibility of various types, civil, criminal and disciplinary. His Excellency also stressed the importance of young people being fully aware and knowledgeable of the most important issues of the hour and the most important political events, most notably the practices of the occupying Israeli authorities of all forms of war crimes that violate all international laws and norms. Dr. Hatem Al-Abd added that Egypt's position on the Palestinian issue has been explicit and clear from the beginning, and that it has not and will not accept in any way the displacement of a single Palestinian and the liquidation of the Palestinian issue, but rather sees the necessity of rebuilding Gaza without the transfer of a single Palestinian from his land. After Dr. Al-Abd's speech, the discussion was opened to the students present and all their questions and inquiries were answered. At the end of the lecture, Dr. Al-Abd presented a certificate of honor to Prof. Dr. Hossam Tantawi and Prof. Dr. Nawal Jaber, in appreciation and thanks for hosting the symposium within the esteemed Faculty of Archaeology
