With the aim of nurturing and encouraging young talents in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), Al Fozan Foundation, in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), launched the UNESCO-Al Fozan Prize, which covers areas that represent an important component of development.
The objectives of the award are as follows:
Promote public awareness and explore areas of superiority in developing countries.
Contribute to building a group of scientists, researchers and engineers for their effective participation in promoting the global economy and achieving sustainable development in the longer term.
Gender equality in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines in a way that supports the UNESCO Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Programme.
Developing a new generation of researchers with expertise in multiple scientific fields to address global challenges addressed by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The age must be less than 40 years when applying for the award.
Self-nominations are not considered.
