The Center of Excellence for Sustainability at Ain Shams University, in cooperation with the Dutch company Delphy International organized a visit to the Future of Egypt Al-Lahoun Greenhouse Sector.
This came during the training week, which comes as one of the training units for the project funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which aims to build capacity within the Center of Excellence for Sustainability at Ain Shams University with foreign and local training expertise, in order to achieve the integration of students, faculty members, entrepreneurs, and Engineers of the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture to be aware of the latest findings of the world related to water and food. This comes under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abidin, President of Ain Shams University, and Prof. Dr. Ghada Farouk, Vice President of Ain Shams University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, which comes within the framework of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the necessity of researching and developing mechanisms for achieving Food and water security in the Arab Republic of Egypt by linking it to education, scientific research, and applied research.
         
   
         
         
   
         
Dr. Ahmed El-Awady Director of the Center of Excellence for Sustainability, and Dr. zeinab Hendy,Co-Director of the Center of Excellence for Sustainability at Ain Shams University, stressed the importance of providing appropriate training for workers in such national projects through the tremendous scientific capabilities possessed by Ain Shams University. This comes after faculty members from the Faculties of Agriculture, Environment and Science, as well as some trainees from the Ministry of Agriculture and entrepreneurs in the Netherlands, were trained to transfer expertise on protected crops and food production governance at the beginning of February 2024, with support from the Egyptian Embassy in the Netherlands.
         
   
         
         
   
         

This training unit is attended by representatives of the Yemeni Ministry of Water Resources and the Yemeni Ministry of Agriculture to gian benefit from the Egyptian expertise and the expertise of Ain Shams University in the field of protected crops and greenhouses without hydroponics in order to transfer these experiences to the sister country of Yemen.
